Johnm I never thought our troops should be there. The job isn't finished in Afghanistan. But, how can we now pull them out and leave the mess that we've been part of? I have such mixed feelings on this. I hate that our "kids" are even experiencing this, but I don't know what the solution is. I do feel there has to be some way to be able to train the military/police there so that we CAN pull all of ours out, but how is this accomplished? Sorry to say, though I don't agree with us being there, I don't think we sent enough in in hte first place to do it right. Thank YOU John, wishing you and yours a Merry, Blessed Christmas and a peaceful New YEar. You are awesome!

Yes. Yes. Yes. unequivocably yes. Even if we decided to draw down troops now, it will still take a year or more to do it safely. So we need to start NOW. We need to get our combat troops and out send more of our reconstruction experts to Iraq to get THAT job done. Yes, it may get uglier at first. Yes the violence may get worse at first. But in history every conflict comes to an end and that healing process can only begin when the antagonists get out of the way. We need to remove ourselves from a very hot and sticky situation, and give the Iraqis the tools and all this money were wasting on weapons to rebuild their country. $19billion a day to Halliburton et.al isn't going to help Iraqis get their electricity back! Frankly, we know our real reason for being there is for the oil. So let's get our engineers and entrepeneurs and medics in there to set up shop. I agree with Gen. Petreus--there is no military solution. So then let's get our soldiers home!
